Xtelligent Healthcare Media recently hosted Medical Outcome Indicators (MOI) and Jobes Technology Solutions on a live webcast to discuss how MOI has revolutionized how networks work with insurers and providers with an automation-first strategy.
Medical Outcome Indicator's Founder and Chairman, Dr. Shannon Vissman PT, is no stranger to managing a large network of healthcare providers. Before MOI, he founded (and later sold) Universal SmartComp, a leading physical medicine network. Looking to improve on his prior success, Dr. Vissman rethought network management and medical oversight from the ground up. In building MOI, his team has leveraged advanced data analysis and automation technologies to not only create a unique value proposition but also build a business that operates efficiently and scales to manage rapid growth.
In the recent webcast, "Revolutionizing Medical Claims and Bill Processing with Advanced Automation," Dr. Vissman spoke about the struggles that faced his company before automation. He states, "We had physical therapists and occupational therapists that reached out to the providers directly on every bill and every note. It was a costly way to do business. The most troublesome process came with managing all the notes and bills. Providers would mail us bills; we would have to scan them, copy them, and give them to our therapists to review. The therapists would then talk to the injured workers, resulting in a very manual process in sending the bills and sending the updates to the clients. This process took a whole lot of people. We had about 250 employees, and now we could do the same volume today that we did with 250 employees with about 50. ClaimXtractor is a huge advantage."
Knowing modern technology could solve these challenges, MOI partnered with Jobes Technology Solutions to digitize their claim processing, billing, and medical management workflows, applying automation wherever possible. A key driver for these automated processes is data captured from claim forms such as CMS 1500 and UB-04s. For automation to be successful, this data must have a high degree of accuracy, and in true MOI fashion, the process for getting data must be automated.
The captured claim information delivers value beyond automated bill processing. It helps fuel MOI's data-driven approach to medical management that leads to better patient outcomes. By getting patients the right treatment faster, MOI's proprietary system reduces recovery times, and as a result, minimizes the overall cost of care.
